E-Bike, a little nitro boost

Electric Bikes (also known as pedelecs) give you that extra boost going up a hill, or if you are running late for work. Plug the battery pack into your wall for relatively cheap electricity, with a full charge costing about 12 cent (well it's definitely cheaper than petrol).

Using an e-bike means you don't have to be super fit at the beginning. So you can instantly try commuting to work/bus stop/tram without a total body sweat (or a need for a second shower). I believe it's handy and practical for people who live out in the countryside with no bus service. It adds another level of independence, allowing the option to ditch the car and expensive petrol for a eco-cycle instead. I think E-bikes enable a gradual ease back into exercise if you have been away from it for a while.

I took a folder e-bike for a test drive/spin a while back, and it had a quite a kick. I didn't realize it was on the highest setting and I went flying out of the shop like an drunk rocket. These green wheels don't come cheap, with prices starting from around 950 euro for the small folder and increasing upwards to 1200  euro for the heavy duty models. You can browse for more detailed spec's and designs at ElectricBikes.

This together with a Mini Pop up Camper makes a lethal combination; a travel eco pod!
